We are currently recruiting for an FRA Fire Protection Contracts Manager to be based in the South East London area.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for managing various kitchen and bathroom, planned and reactive maintenance and FRA based refurbishment contracts, within the London and South East region, working with a variety of customers including care, social housing, education, and private housing clients.
• Manage daily running of contracts to complete work to quality, time and compliance.
• Conform with Fire Protection audit process
• Understand and implement safe systems of work
• Manage the running of contracts on site so work is completed on time, to required standard ensuring Operatives are advised on the required level of compliance permitting third party sign off
• Manage workforce quality and adherence to specification
• Provide regular feedback (verbal and written reports) to Operations Team.
• Attend and contribute within client meetings as necessary
• Assist with Development and growth of the fire protection business within the region.
About the candidate
• Relevant experience of Contract Management in a similar role from within the property services/ facilities or construction industry.
• Demonstrable experience of managing direct labour, including development and performance management of a trade-based team
• A trade background (all trades considered to NVQ level 2 or equivalent) preferred but not essential
• A sound working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
• The ability to build successful, partnering working relationships with customers and employees
• An understanding of cost and risk management; working to budgets.

About the Candidate
• Preferably possess a degree, be HNC or HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Proven experience in a similar commercial or quantity surveying role
• Have a proven ability to minimize cost and maximize value, profit, and cash flow
• Possess strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills
• A clean full driving license
• Understanding of key contract terms including the JCT and NEC Form of Contract
• Be analytically minded, organized, and honest as well as be a genuine ‘people person’ who relishes communicating effectively with their clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues

Based at the company's Leeds Office and reporting to the Commercial Director and MD, you will hold day to day responsibility for the Commercial Management function across term and project based planned and reactive repairs, maintenance and FRA, passive fire protection and Fire Doors works spanning across the company's operational regions (Yorkshire, Midlands North East and North West). As the senior commercial lead, you will oversee the progress and development of your team, negotiating and overseeing contracts, whilst dealing with all commercial matters affecting performance.
Responsibilities;
Manage competing workloads, ensuring priorities are met spanning all projects / Contracts within your region
Support the forward planning cycle maintaining a consistent return against client approvals, upfront cost estimates and tenders
Ensure the timely completion of monthly payment applications and final accounts
Closely monitor work in progress, taking steps to mitigate excessive ageing (>45days)
Represent the company across a variety of on and off-site client meetings including progress reviews, pre-commencement meetings, tender negotiations, and final account settlements
Ensure weekly sales values are administered through agreed processes and that they remain reflective of works completed in the period
Set and oversee project / Contract budgets, review weekly cost and sales reports, taking the lead with cross-functional teams (surveying, planning, operations, finance, and procurement) as necessary to enhance performance
Represent the company in day-to-day dealings with clients and customers, strategically expanding, preserving, and improving the company image, procedures, standards, and policies.
In conjunction with your operational colleagues (Operations Manager/ Contracts Managers) you will also hold responsibility for the production and presentation of monthly forecasts, reporting actual performance against each project / Contract within your region whilst demonstrating an ability to implement and deliver profit improvement plans.
