Fencing Contracts Manager Role
About our Client:
One of the largest national Fencing and Perimeter Security Total Solutions Provider. They are experts in the field of manufacturing, supplying & installing security fencing systems throughout the UK.
About the Role:
• Oversee both directly employed and external subcontract teams
• Ensuring work is installed safely, on time, within budget whilst maintaining exceptional standards
• Working closely with the Senior Contracts Manager to run projects effectively
• Managing projects ranging from £5k through to £1 million +
About the Candidate:
• Minimum of 5 year’s relevant management experience preferably within the fencing industry
• Knowledge of Security Fencing/ Gates/ Hoarding etc
• CSCS/SMSTS would be an advantage
• Experienced in effectively leading teams
• Effective influencing, negotiating skills
• Estimating to effectively capture all variations
• Knowledge managing project, with a strong commercial acumen
• Accurate forecasting
• Excellent organisational skills
• Communication skills & leadership
• Excellent problem-solving abilities

Brief Outline
An industry leading company in the passive fire protection market requires a Site Manager to help oversee projects, largely in the local authority sectors within the North East region on a permanent basis, offering a competitive package and the potential to progress to a more senior position within the company’s operations team in the future. Our client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the project and its progress.

The client has been active in the passive fire protection sector for over 15 years with an established client base and consistent work across the North. The company works on housing, education, NHS and MOD contracts amongst others
About the Role
The successful Site Manager will:
• Ensure the site activities comply with H&S regulations, legislation and that all staff follow H&S policies and procedures through effective training, risk assessments and audits, record keeping, etc.
• Ensure quality delivery of works though daily/weekly auditing
• Provide regular and timely feedback on the progress of works against targets to relevant operational and commercial teams
• Monitor day to day customer relations and take reasonable steps to prevent issues from occurring
• Provide information on site activities to support Contracts Manager in progress meetings with clients and customers; prepare regular performance reports when required
• Assist Contracts Manager in managing staff in line with policies and procedures, such as recruitment, training, capability, disciplinary, talent development and succession; escalate issues accordingly and contribute to performance reviews.
• Escalate training and development needs.
About the Candidate
• Previous experience in managing sites for passive fire protection works
• FIRAS / NVQ/ related Fire Protection Qualification
• Flexible self-starter with ability to prioritise
• Displays strong leadership skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• PC literate
• Commercially aware

The client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the project and its progress.

About the Role
Responsibility for day-to-day supervision of allocated portfolio of projects.
Reporting to the Project Compliance Manager
To liaise and maintain a good working relationship with Clients, Surveyors, other Project Managers and attend site meetings.
Ensure all works are carried out under health and safety guidelines.
Assist Senior Management in the overall planning and management of projects.
Coordinate works in accordance with company policies
Manage and supervise the delivery of works on site
Supervising of outputs delivered by up to five trades persons (Fire Stopping Technicians, Joiners and Operatives)
Ensure records of works completed remain accurate and fully reflective of the technical requirements of project specifications
About the Candidate
Previous experience in a supervisory or site managerial role on Passive Fire Protection projects
Experienced in Passive Fire Protection products, systems, installation methodologies
Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Relevant training in Passive Fire Protection (i.e. FIRAS Qualification, NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection)
