Quantity Surveyor Role - Job Spec

We are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor for a market leading and growing Civil engineering, RC Frame, Remediation, Demolition, Decommissioning and Enabling contractor during their ongoing expansion, with projects based in the Midlands area.

The company have been operating for over 30 years and turnover circa £150Mill+ as a group and work in a variety of sectors for blue chip clients. They cover the whole of the UK with 17 offices operating across the country.

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of interesting and high-profile projects, taking ownership for developing the relationship with the client as well as working as part of a well-established integrated delivery team. This role will be assisting a Lead Surveyor and Commercial Director dealing with multi-million-pound projects from planning through to completion.

The projects vary, giving the Quantity Surveyor exposure to a variety of contract types, schemes, clients and challenges and you will be supported in developing to ensure you have well rounded experience. They work in various sectors including; inner city construction, industrial sites, civils and infrastructure projects.

Some of your duties will include
• Overseeing a specific portfolio of projects
• Ensuring all Commercial Activities are performed in an ethical manner while maintaining a competitive position
• Reviewing and managing Risk and Opportunities
• Ensure cashflow is maintained
• Ensuring accurate Month - End CVR Reporting
• Pricing of change orders
• Measurement of client design drawings with a particular focus on remediation, earthworks, civils and substructures, amongst other areas.
• Dealing with subcontractor orders and general paperwork
• Procurement of materials and subcontracts
• Creating monthly applications towards client and understanding and developing project budgets
• Dealing with client queries related to scope of works
