About the Role:

The Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in the pre-construction and post-construction phases of architectural metalwork projects, providing expertise in cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and cost management.

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for architectural metalwork projects based on project specifications, drawings, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with the design, engineering, and estimating teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and alternative materials or methods.
  • Manage the procurement process, including issuing requests for quotations (RFQs), evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and selecting subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the construction phase, tracking expenditures, assessing cost variances, and implementing cost control measures as needed.
  • Prepare and submit progress payments, change orders, and other contractual documentation in accordance with project timelines and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify work progress, quantities installed, and compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • Assess and manage project risks related to cost, scope, and schedule

About the Candidate 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in quantity take-off methods and cost estimation techniques, with the ability to accurately assess project costs and budgets
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and contract administration principles
  • Familiarity with relevant construction regulations, codes, and standards governing architectural metalwork projects
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications for cost estimating, scheduling, and project management
