About the Role:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will assume a leadership role within the company’s quantity surveying team, providing expertise in cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and project cost management..

• Lead the quantity surveying function for architectural metalwork projects, overseeing a team of quantity surveyors and supporting staff.
• Develop and implement cost estimating methodologies, procurement strategies, and contract administration procedures to optimize project outcomes.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for architectural metalwork projects, incorporating labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Collaborate with the design, engineering, and estimating teams to develop value engineering solutions and alternative cost-saving measures.
• Manage the procurement process, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
• Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the construction phase, analyzing cost variances, forecasting expenditures, and implementing cost control measures.

About the Candidate 

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PQS) preferred.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with significant experience in architectural metalwork projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and leading quantity surveying teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in cost estimating, quantity take-off methods, and construction cost management principles.
• Thorough knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and contract administration procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in construction management software and tools, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Leadership qualities with a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire team members, delegate tasks effectively, and drive results.
