Brief Outline

Our industry leading client in the local authority refurbishment, repairs, maintenance and fire protection sector, is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial aspects of varied contracts. Types of projects dealt with include; Social housing, Education, Healthcare, Governmental buildings, amongst other areas.

Our client has been established for over 20 years and has positioned themselves as a market leader in the refurbishment and FRA sector throughout the Yorkshire, North West and the Midlands. 

About the Role

    • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will actively be involved with the pre contracts stage through to final accounts, with the ability to have impact on profitability and commercial success

    • Support operational colleagues on commercial matters

    • Agreeing cost estimates with clients, 

    • Compiling payment applications and tracking progress against forecasts and budgets.

    • Dealing with enquiries from various clients

About the Candidate

    • Preferably possess a degree, be HNC or HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

    • Proven experience in a similar commercial or quantity surveying role

    • Have a proven ability to minimize cost and maximize value, profit, and cash flow

    • Possess strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills

    • A clean full driving license

    • Understanding of key contract terms including the JCT and NEC Form of Contract

    • Be analytically minded, organized, and honest as well as be a genuine ‘people person’ who relishes communicating effectively with their clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues
