One of the leading fabricators of specialist Architectural Metalwork in the UK.

About the Role:

The Estimator will play a key role in the pre-construction phase of projects by accurately estimating the costs associated with architectural metalwork projects. Working closely with the sales, design, and production teams, the Estimator will analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to gather necessary information and clarify project scope.
  • Conduct material take-offs and quantify required materials for each project.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Analyze historical data, market trends, and vendor pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimates.
  • Identify and quantify project risks and contingencies, providing recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients as needed.

About the Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the architectural metalwork industry or similar field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate material take-offs and calculations.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
