About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager – New Connections to join their fast-growing, award-winning business sales team.  This field-based role involves engaging with senior-level stakeholders to expand the New Connections channel in line with projected growth.  

Key Responsibilities:

– Account Management: Oversee a portfolio of existing and new customers, including energy consultants, brokers, and intermediaries, to drive new business.  

– Collaboration: Work closely with credit, finance, operational, and customer service teams to ensure cash and debt management aligns with opportunities and customer service needs.  

– Sales Strategy: Contribute to the broader B2B sales strategy by maximizing sales efficiencies and introducing new products and services.  

This role is dynamic, challenging, and rewarding, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.

Core Responsibilities:

– Achieve individual sales targets in line with the overall B2B plan.  

– Support the development of the New Connections strategy.   

– Deliver outstanding customer service by understanding customer needs and maintaining strong relationships.  

– Provide accurate quotations for gas and power contracts from initial requests through negotiation and acceptance.  

– Present new ideas and gain support from senior management.   

– Collaborate with other departments to promote the company brand and products.  

– Serve as the main point of contact for TPIs and direct customers at a senior level.  

– Develop and implement strategies for approaching new clients.  

– Work with the commissions team to create bespoke arrangements for acquiring new clients.  

– Assist in launching new products and services and identify cross-selling opportunities.  

– Support back-office teams with after-sales support and customer care.  

– Attend off-site client meetings and networking events regularly.  

– Play an integral role in new business pitches, securing contracts, and registering new clients.  

– Provide standard and ad-hoc reports, including KPI details to the Senior Manager – B2B Sales.  

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should have a passion for sustainability, be energetic, and have a dynamic approach. You should be experienced in identifying opportunities, possess strong commercial acumen, and work collaboratively with all departments to achieve customer targets.

Knowledge Required:

– Understanding of the energy industry (desirable but not essential).  

– Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, or similar CRM systems.  

– Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages.
