About the Role:
The Estimator will be instrumental in the preliminary phase of projects, responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with architectural metalwork endeavors. Working closely with sales, design, and production teams,
- Review project specifications, drawings, and related documents to grasp project scope and requirements
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to gather essential project details and clarify any ambiguities.
- Conduct detailed material take-offs and quantify the necessary materials for each project component
- Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to generate precise cost estimates, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses
- Analyze historical data, industry trends, and supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimates
- Identify potential project risks and contingencies, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate challenges
- Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients, addressing inquiries and clarifications as needed.
- Participate actively in pre-bid meetings, site assessments, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors
- Foster seamless coordination with design and production teams, ensuring a smooth transition from estimation to project execution
- Maintain meticulous records of estimates, revisions, and updates throughout the bidding process
About the candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven track record as an Estimator within the architectural metalwork industry or similar domain.
- Proficient in interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong mathematical acumen and attention to detail, adept at conducting accurate material take-offs and calculations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in utilizing estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent platforms.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and with clients.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, bid procedures, and project management principles.
- Dedication to precision, integrity, and continuous improvement in estimating methodologies.
