About the Role:

The Senior Estimator will be instrumental in the preliminary phase of projects, responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with architectural metalwork endeavors. Working closely with sales, design, and production teams,

  • Identify potential project risks and contingencies, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate the challenges
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients, addressing inquiries and clarifications as needed.
  • Analyze historical data, industry trends, and supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in estimates
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and related documents to grasp project scope and requirements
  • Foster seamless coordination with design and production teams, ensuring a smooth transition from estimation to project execution
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to gather essential project details and clarify any ambiguities.
  • Conduct detailed material take-offs and quantify the necessary materials for each project component
  • Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to generate precise cost estimates, encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses
  • Participate actively in pre-bid meetings, site assessments, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors
  • Maintain meticulous records of estimates, revisions, and updates throughout the bidding process

About the candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record as an Estimator within the architectural metalwork industry or similar domain.
  • Proficient in interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mathematical acumen and attention to detail, adept at conducting accurate material take-offs and calculations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in utilizing estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and with clients.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, bid procedures, and project management principles.
  • Dedication to precision, integrity, and continuous improvement in estimating methodologies.
