Joinery Design Manager Role

Overview:

An established specialist Joinery and Fit out contractor are currently looking for a Joinery Design Manager to join their established technical team in the London/ South East area.

About the role:

This is a design led role where you will be reporting into a Contracts Director and overseeing all design and technical processes for a portfolio of projects assigned.

You will be expected to manage a number of projects at one time and have strong technical knowledge of CAD, document control, whilst being commercial astute and have awareness of financial budgets for particular contracts. You will also be expected to manage and guide other design personnel when needed and also work autonomously.

Duties will involve;

• Oversee whole process of high end joinery design
• Deliver on multiple, large projects at one time (£2mil - £5mil)
• Attend design meetings with clients and Project Management team to set out design strategies
• Liaise with the Commercial Manager in understanding what financial allowances and financial restraints apply to specific projects
• Bring projects through to successful completion while working alongside project team
• Manage the supply chain design and drawing process.
• Manage the production of material schedules
• Assist with the procurement of bespoke designed materials

About the candidate:
• Extensive joinery and fit out design experienced in AutoCad, amongst other related software
• Understand the clients design brief, specification and drawings.
• Be competent in coordinating drawings with other contractors’ drawings
• Be capable of producing / amending design programmes.
