A leading Structural Steel Contractor who operates nationwide on new build and refurbishment projects.

About the role:

The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our structural steel projects through detailed quantitative analysis and surveying. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with the engineering and project management teams, and be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data related to project specifications, materials, costs, and timelines. The Quantity Surveyor’s insights will inform critical decision-making processes and help optimize project outcomes.

The Quantity Surveyor’s responsibilities will include:

  • Working from House Builder’s drawings/plans and structural engineer calculations, specifications, and other related documents
  • Identifying labour, material, and process time requirements by studying collated information
  • Working with main stakeholders, attending both internal and external meetings.
  • Present prepared quotation by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information for the Client
  • Preparing special management reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends
  • Maintaining technical knowledge, support in-house training and development schemes
  • Adhering to ISO 9001 and CE Marking procedures to ensure compliance at all times
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

About the candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and project management within the construction or structural steel industry
  • Proficiency in surveying techniques, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD), and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement
