This is an exciting contract opportunity at a leading structural steel company for a Health & Safety Manager to join a new construction site in Norfolk.

About our Client 

  • Our client is a leading structural steel company, operating nationally across the UK and structural steel projects across numerous sectors. They are now looking for Health and Safety Manager to join a new construction site in Norfolk on a fixed 12-month contract.

About the Role     

  • Providing specialist Health & Safety advice, support, and guidance at both strategic and operational level.
  • Reviewing systems and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance to H&S legislation.
  • Ensure that all personnel adhere to safe working practices in line with the organisations Health & Safety policies, procedures, and processes on site.
  • Carry out inductions, assessments and inspections, challenging non-compliance when required and offering solutions.
  • Assist site managers with initial site setup to ensure all safety documentation and signs are in place.
  • Should any works be required to cease you would need to take photographic evidence and provide a detailed written report to the HSQE manager.
  • Support our site tradesman with ongoing health and safety training.
  • Carry our formal site inspections and provide written report scoring the site with photos to support.
  • Investigate & report to the HSQE Manager all potential RIDDORS, Accidents, Minor Injuries, Non-Conformances and Near Misses.
  • Investigate & report all Enforcing Authority visits to the HSQE Manager.
  • Analise site reports to find high risk tasks and how we can improve.
  • Attend monthly management meeting to present your findings and areas of improvement.
  • Produce monthly summary reports.

About the Candidate                                        

  • Previous experience managing Health & Safety within the Construction industry.
  • Experience in the structural steel sector will be an advantage but not essential.
  • Minimum Tech IOSH Qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Risk Assessment writing experience.
