We are searching for a Quantity Surveyor for an industry leading company in the Drylining and Ceilings sector to carry out surveying duties on a range of projects, largely in the commercial, residential, hotel & leisure, educational and retail sectors within the London region on a permanent basis. The Quantity Surveyor will be working on projects primarily in London & South East regions within the commercial sector. Projects range from £100k to £2Mill +. The client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the project and its progress.
The role will include developing close inter-relations with the Client and Sub-contractors and maintain profitable projects. Candidate will also be responsible for the supervision and management of site and trainee surveyors on own various projects. It is a key appointment for the business and underpins the continued growth aspirations of the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attending tender handover meetings on secured projects and take responsibility for all relevant cost information.
- Form contract budgets from tender information calculating total profit/loss forecasts.
- Carry out monthly budget monitoring.
- Providing interim cost and value reconciliation, monitoring cashflows for projects on Oracle.
- Preparation and agreement of interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts, all aspects of measurement.
- Procurement of subcontractors
- Preparation and compilation of subcontract documentation with appropriate orders.
- Implement subcontract payment controls, variations, materials, contra charges and claims.
- Record keeping of site progress, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with all business unit departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop the companies’ objectives.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Quantity surveyor experience with a track record in the drylining and internal finishings market
- Good sound contract knowledge and experience in various subcontract types
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and policies.
- Strong technical knowledge to align with key accountabilities.
- Knowledge of commercial sectors using differing construction systems.
- Motivational individual – good leadership qualities.
- Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities
- Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the company values
