Quantity Surveyor (Drylining & Ceilings)

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost management, from inception through to completion, on large-scale commercial and residential projects across Central London. You will work closely with project teams to ensure the efficient financial management of contracts, with a particular focus on drylining, partitioning, and suspended ceiling installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management:
- Prepare, negotiate, and analyze project costs to ensure profitability and financial efficiency.
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) and estimates for drylining and ceiling works.
- Monitor and control budgets, ensuring all expenditures align with project goals.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier costs for materials and labor.
- Conduct valuations and manage interim applications for payment.
- Tendering & Contract Management:
- Prepare and issue tenders for drylining and ceiling contracts, analyzing submissions and awarding contracts.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Review contract documents, ensuring scope, cost breakdowns, and timelines are adhered to.
- Manage contract variations, cost adjustments, and change orders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify risks related to costs and provide solutions to mitigate financial impact.
- Perform regular financial forecasting and reporting to stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial goals align with project milestones.
- Attend site visits, progress meetings, and client meetings to discuss financial and contractual matters.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports for internal and external use.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on drylining, ceilings, OR interior fit-outs.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management principles.
- Experience working on high-value projects in urban environments like Central London.
- Excellent understanding of drylining systems, suspended ceilings, and associated materials.
- Desirable:
- Proficiency in construction software (e.g., COINS, Causeway, or similar).
