Commissioning Engineer

Salary Range: £42,900 – £55,000 Plus Benefits

Location: within an hour from Herts – required to work Nationwide

Role & Responsibilities:

As an approved electrician with at least 2 years of experience commissioning a wide range of smoke ventilation systems, you will:

• Work with and supervise team members with varying skill levels, helping them maximize their potential
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile for both the company and the customer
• Manage projects to ensure they meet scheduled requirements
• Communicate effectively with customers and staff at all levels
• Maintain the company’s reputation for excellence
• Travel across the UK as needed, including periodic stopovers and overtime

Main Duties:

• Wire, fix, and commission a range of smoke ventilation systems
• Ensure systems fully operate under all conditions listed in the commissioning report
• Understand and apply all relevant legislation and standards
• Ensure compliance with the latest standards and guidance in all work
• Manage large or small installations, ensuring team adherence to design and standards
• Communicate with other trades to ensure smooth project completion
• Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality
• Regularly check and maintain the company vehicle as per policy
• Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy at all times
• Handle any reasonable requests from directors

Job Skills & Qualifications:

NVQ in Electrical Installations or equivalent

SSSTS or higher

JIB/ECS card holder

Span Set, Pasma, IPAF certifications

Working knowledge of ADB, BS EN 12101, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BS 7346 Part 8

SE Controls training program (Level 1 to Level 6)

Familiarity with equipment from Colt, SCS, FDS, and other manufacturers
