Business Development Manager (Passive Fire Protection)

Role Purpose

Our client is an established contractor specialising in Passive Fire Protection services throughout the UK working across various sectors including social housing, local authority, education, healthcare and commercial. In line with the business growth plan, we are looking for a business development manager to drive pipeline and revenue growth across all sectors and services (Nationally) through new contract and project wins.

Key Responsibilities:

-New business development in line with growth strategy and revenue targets

-Build pipeline of opportunities within key market sectors

-Identify opportunities that are not publicly advertised through OJEU or Frameworks with a view to getting onto approved tender lists

-Gain knowledge and intel on upcoming tender opportunities through OJEU and frameworks. Build relationships with client and work closely with bid manager throughout tender process

-Build relationships with key stakeholders within the sectors – consultants, suppliers, manufacturers to increase market intelligence

-Account management – upselling and cross selling our services to existing clients

-Attending conferences and networking events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends

-Work closely with the operations department to develop the sales offering from both a commercial and technical perspective and manage the transition of sales into the business.

-Stay current with competitor trends and new technology and report back to the business

-Creating and managing sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them

-Log activity through CRM system

Pipeline reporting to Board Person Specification /Essential Requirements:

-Proven track record of Business Development with social housing sector / public sector 

-Experience of working with procurement frameworks / knowledge of tendering processes

-Ability to generate new business

-Proven sales ability with proof of performance against targets

-Ambitious and driven to growth with a fast growing business

-Strong leadership skills – promoting team working, influencing, communication

-Commercial understanding of Projects, Quotes and Proposals

-Excellent customer service skills
