About the Role:
The Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in managing all costs related to their construction projects and be responsible for estimating, budgeting, cost control, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaising and collaborate with Directors, Contracts managers and operations teams in all contractual activities.
- Liaising with Estimators at project handover to understand spec, scope and contract sums
- Preparing, submitting and agreeing interim valuations/applications in order to enhance commercial outcomes for the company.
- Costing and agreeing variations and robust follow up to ensure payment
- Valuing variations and ascertaining loss and/or expense.
- Reviewing subcontract documentation for delay and loss and/or expense claims
- Advising colleagues on delays, extensions of time and loss and/or expense and ensuring relevant notices are issued.
- Reporting on the overall financial position of contracts.
- Assisting with tendering for projects
About the Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with specific experience in timber engineering preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and financial information accurately.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and project management tools.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and industry best practices.
