Scaffolding Design Engineer
Role Overview
We are currently dealing with an exciting opportunity for a market leading client of ours, who are looking for a Scaffolding Design Engineer to work out of their Glasgow office, with flexible working conditions. They are looking at candidates with relevant scaffolding and temporary works design experience for sizeable project in the variety of sectors they cover.
Wider knowledge of access and temporary works would be a bonus, whilst strong knowledge of AutoCAD, UK regulations and codes of practice are required.

Our client are a market leading scaffolding and access contractor with a 30 year+ history and a turnover circa £50 Mill, working across the UK on some of the most prestigious, landmark jobs in the country. They have an established design department and a structure in place for a design engineer to join them and settle into a structured team.

About the role
As the Design Engineer, you will provide scaffolding and temporary works design schemes including the production of detailed design drawings, structural calculations and design risk assessments for a range of projects throughout the UK, whilst adhering to the latest codes of practice, UK regulations and company policies. This role will be with a view to progressing to a more management focused role in the future.
Required Skills
This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious Design Engineer who will have the opportunity to progress within an established team in a market leading contractor, with continual training and development given, and the potential for progression to a higher management role.
Relevant experience of construction design that includes scaffolding and temporary works with AutoCAD skills are essential, as well as good general IT skills. You must also have the ability to read and fully understand engineering plans and section details and produce a variety of scaffold designs based on company requirements. You must also be able to work under pressure, meet targets and work to deadlines is essential.

Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

We are currently searching for an experienced Groundworks Quantity Surveyor for a market leading and growing Civil engineering, Groundworks, Demolition, Decommissioning contractor during their ongoing expansion.

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of interesting and high-profile projects, taking ownership for developing the relationship with the client as well as working as part of a well-established integrated delivery team.

The projects vary, giving the Quantity Surveyor exposure to a variety of contract types, schemes, clients and challenges and you will be supported in developing to ensure you have well rounded experience. They work in various sectors including; inner city construction, industrial sites, civils and infrastructure projects.

Some of your duties will include

• Overseeing a specific portfolio of projects

• Ensuring all Commercial Activities are performed in an ethical manner while maintaining a competitive position

• Reviewing and managing Risk and Opportunities

• Ensure cashflow is maintained

• Ensuring accurate Month - End CVR Reporting

• Pricing of change orders

• Measurement of client design drawings with a particular focus on remediation, earthworks, civils and substructures, amongst other areas.

• Dealing with subcontractor orders and general paperwork

• Procurement of materials and subcontracts

• Creating monthly applications towards client and understanding and developing project budgets

• Dealing with client queries related to scope of works
