Scaffolding Senior Quantity Surveyor

About The Company
An established scaffolding contractor based in the East Midlands is currently seeking a senior quantity surveyor. Having been established for over 20 years our client has grown year after year. They operate within the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors of the scaffolding industry with project values ranging in excess of £1m.

The Role & Responsibilities:
• Measuring and estimating.
• Preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations.
• Preparing and negotiating final accounts.
• Remeasure Bill of Quantities.
• Pricing variation orders and charging the client accordingly.
• Monitoring costs to ensure works are within budget.
• Preparing contract claims information.
• Visit live sites to ensure works are running correctly.
• Document control.
• Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
• Negotiating costs and prices.
• Attending on-site meetings.
• Attending sites at least once a month for valuations.
• Producing cost value reconciliations.
• Awareness of SMM.
• General administrative duties.
• Ensure contract cash flow is maintained.
• Preparing turnover and profit forecasts.

About you:
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a quantity surveyor.
• Knowledge of scaffolding is essential.
• Knowledge of brickwork is desirable but not essential.
• You will be highly motivated, have high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise
efficiently, and be reliable.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and pressurised environment.
• Team worker.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel).

Remediation Project Manager Role – Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join and contribute to a market leading multi-disciplined civil engineering, groundworks, earthworks, remediation and demolition company for their growing ground remediation department. This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing earthworks and ground remediation projects, ensuring they are run safely, on budget and meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
Candidate’s experience required
• Experienced Project Manager with significant knowledge and understanding of a wide range of contaminated land remediation projects.
• Excellent understanding of Health and Safety requirements, and Industry legislation and regulations, ensuring projects are legally compliant.
• Awareness and understanding of operational and financial targets.
• Ability to direct a team to deliver the business’ primary objectives with the ability to mentor and motivate where necessary.
Skills and qualities required
• In depth understanding of remediation, land contamination, groundwork and related understanding of wider construction, demolition, asbestos removal sites
• Relevant technical qualifications; Degree/ HNC/ HND, etc in geology, engineering or environmental science, or similar.
• Be able to present, analyse and interpret data.
• Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to work in a methodical and calm manner.
• IT skills – MS Office suite.
• Integrity, Accountable, Flexible.
• Full Driving licence a necessity.

Construction Health & Safety Manager

Construction Health & Safety Manager
Our client is currently searching for a Health & Safety Manager to oversee H&S functions within the business. They are an established repairs, fire protection and joinery contractor who undertake varied projects throughout the commercial, governmental, education, medical, local authority industries, working across the North and Midlands area.

The Health & Safety Manager will provide ongoing health and safety support to site-based operations, including the production of construction phase health and safety plans, risk assessments and methods statements. Working closely with site management teams, technicians, and client safety teams, you will champion HSEQ initiatives monitoring site safety performance ensuring compliance with ISO45001 Safety, Quality and Environment Management systems, company policies and procedures.

Additionally, you will:
• Conduct frequent site visits providing health and safety guidance whilst supporting/encouraging good site safety practice.
• Prepare and provide advice on construction phase plans.
• Perform accident / incident reports and investigations, implementing preventative measures through continuous improvement to process and operating procedures.
• Support the company induction process rolling out training to new starters.
• Conduct regular refresher training sessions and maintaining accurate training records.
• Compile statistics and reports as part of monthly performance reviews.
• Organise and deliver health and safety meetings and training courses for employees.
• Liaise with group and relevant external health and safety authorities.
• Keep up to date with latest developments including legislative developments relating to health and safety at work.
