Overview:
Our client is looking for a commercially minded Technical Design Sales Engineer who thrives at the intersection of design, engineering, and client engagement. This is a office/field-based role where you’ll play a critical part in the development and promotion of innovative fall protection and façade access solutions.
You will work on live project pipelines, translating technical designs into tailored solutions. With a strong focus on technical sales, you’ll engage both creatively and analytically bridging the gap between functional design and commercial strategy.
This role is ideal for individuals from a design or engineering background who are ready to leverage their creativity in a client-facing, solution-driven sales environment.
Key Focus Areas:
- Driving sales growth across fall protection and façade access products/services
- Engaging directly with end users and stakeholders in the design process
- Cultivating strong, long-term customer relationships
- Ensuring healthy profit margins through solution-led sales
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver against personal sales targets with a proactive, design-led approach
- Interpret technical drawings to develop tailored solutions
- Create detailed, accurate quotations aligned with relevant design standards
- Manage and develop key accounts, including new, existing, and dormant clients
- Use design thinking to identify client pain points and provide value-driven solutions
- Conduct site surveys and translate technical specifications into compelling proposals
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager and internal teams on strategic planning
- Attend monthly performance reviews, contributing insights to refine future activity
- Maintain meticulous records of sales activities, feedback, and market intelligence
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans
- Design-thinking mindset with a practical and solutions-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills – able to present design concepts clearly
- Background in technical sales, architecture, industrial design, or engineering preferred
- Self-motivated team player with strong commercial instincts
- Full UK driving license required
- Comfortable with regular travel to client sites
