Key Responsibilities

Lead site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation design for contaminated land and brownfield redevelopment projects.

Develop and manage Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including planning, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.

Supervise ground investigations and environmental sampling, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Interpret geotechnical and environmental data to assess site conditions and environmental risks.

Design and oversee the implementation of remediation strategies and validation plans.

Liaise with regulators, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Mentor junior engineers and scientists, providing guidance on technical and professional development.

Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and contract documentation.

Stay updated with emerging environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field.

Chartered status (CEng, CGeol, or equivalent) preferred.

Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in geo-environmental engineering, including contaminated land assessment and remediation.

Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act, CLR11, BS 10175).

Proficiency in risk assessment models (e.g., CLEA, P20, SNIFFER).

Experience with geotechnical design and ground engineering software is advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Valid UK driving license (if applicable).
