About the Role
We are seeking a Temporary Works Design Manager to join a leading consultancy specialising in Temporary Works engineering solutions. This position involves managing and delivering temporary works designs across a range of infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring safety, practicality, and compliance with industry standards. You’ll be the technical lead on design strategy, working closely with site teams and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage temporary works designs including formwork, falsework, scaffolding, propping, shoring, access platforms, and haul roads

• Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and site teams to provide buildable, cost-effective design solutions

• Review and adapt existing designs to optimise constructability and sequencing

• Lead internal and client-facing design reviews and technical meetings

• Provide mentoring and guidance to Temporary Works Coordinators and junior engineers

• Support risk mitigation, value engineering, and ensure all designs meet H&S, CDM, and legislative requirements

Requirements

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field

• Experience in temporary works design within a consultancy or contractor environment

• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Tedds, AutoCAD, Revit)

• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and site teams
