Description of duties – Accountant
Following a recent promotion within our business, we are looking for an internal Accountant to join us who will organise, reconcile and forecast all financial transactions. These will include a variety of expenses and monthly payments, whilst overseeing banking and budgetary matters.
These duties will therefore involve:
- The collation, retention and timely payment of supplier invoices.
- Production and sending of Invoices to clients, including statements of accounts.
- Credit control and monitoring of client payments.
- Salary calculations including expenses, commission and pensions.
- Working with our external accountants to prepare tax data for submission to HMRC.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual updates for the management team.
- Any finance related queries received through correspondence.
- Working in a close team environment through Microsoft teams.
This list is not exhaustive and should be considered a broad overview of the general accountancy required for this role.
The successful candidate is required to have:
- 2 years minimum Accountancy experience.
- Knowledge of any accounting software
- Microsoft Office with enhanced Excel competency.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A relevant qualification within the accountancy or finance field.
- Online banking experience for making payments.
- References from prior employers.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
The successful candidate will ideally have, although not essential:
- Experience within the Construction industry.
- Knowledge of client invoicing portals.
