About the Role
• Liaise with the General Manager to ascertain weekly requirements / changes.
• Liaise with material suppliers, specialist fabricators, finishers
• Material & Specialist supplier purchase orders incl. in line with company buying policy; comparative quotes, negotiation of best price etc.
• Attend production meeting with General Manager and other Group company management staff to provide update of all jobs / delivery schedules etc.
• Attend monthly Health & Safety committee meetings
• Assign jobs to workshop labour and insure a clear understanding of requirements is passed on.
• Assist with on going training and development of Metalwork staff, undertake training and inductions for production staff on new machinery
• Ensure correct operation and maintenance of all workshop machinery with strict compliance to Health & Safety regulations.
• Ensure works are completed within set timescales and delivery dates are met.
• Ensure time sheets are accurately completed, collected weekly and signed off.
• Quality management, ensuring manufactured items are produced within the specification and to an expected quality level including finishing works (spray-shop)
• Direct communication / meetings with clients to resolve specific queries and details
• Continuously identify and forward ideas that will improve efficiencies.
• Undertake interviews for production staff candidates.
