Role Overview:
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing competitive and accurate estimates for piling and ground engineering works. This includes working closely with the pre-construction and operations teams, analysing tender documentation, developing pricing strategies, and helping secure new projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for piling and ground engineering projects (e.g., CFA, rotary bored, driven piles).

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to clarify scope and ensure complete and compliant tender submissions.

Assist in value engineering and alternative proposals to optimise solutions for clients.

Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings, including handovers to project delivery teams.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, construction methods, and innovations in piling techniques.

Track tender progress, bid outcomes, and maintain estimating records and databases.
Requirements:

Proven experience as an estimator in the construction or civil engineering industry, with a focus on piling or groundworks.

Strong understanding of various piling techniques (e.g., CFA, rotary bored, contiguous walls, secant walls).

Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
Desirable:

HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
-
CSCS Card.
