Position: Main Contracting Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a skilled Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with experience in main contracting, particularly within the healthcare sector as a Quantity Surveyor. Operating across various sectors including healthcare, residential, office, leisure, and retail, our client’s projects are primarily based in and around London. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the cost aspects of construction projects, ensuring efficient budgeting and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Oversee and manage the cost aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.

Tender and Contract Preparation: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

Site Visits: Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress, assess costs, and resolve any quantity surveying issues that may arise.

Contractual Negotiation: Negotiate and agree on contracts, variations, and final accounts with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring fair and favorable terms for all parties involved.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to cost overruns, delays, and contractual disputes, implementing effective risk management strategies as necessary.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the main contracting industry, with a focus on healthcare projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Salary: £40 000 – £50 000
