About our Client 

My client has been established within the façade sector for a number of years now and work on curtain walling and rainscreen projects which can go up to £2million. Looking to grow the company further they are now they are looking for someone in this Sales Estimators role. 

About the Role 

  • To ensure profitable estimates are submitted to satisfy order intake requirements. All estimates are to be presented to the Directors for approval prior to submission. 

  • Sole responsibility, with guidance and support from line manager, for securing orders 

  •  Involved in enquiry selection process, to determine which tenders to quote. 

  • Solely responsible for: – for comparing order quantities, sizes and prices with those submitted in our quotation on expectation of an order – raising and resolving any queries with the customer and ensuring appropriate supporting evidence/documentation is available from supplier – liaising with supply chain in the U.K. and in Europe to acquire accurate prices that are the basis of any tender 

  • Part of the role will be to establish strong relationships with both UK and European suppliers. 

  • Spotting opportunities for increased margin and exploiting these to the benefit of the Company by working alongside and highlighting to Project / Site Managers and Directors 

  • Identifying, fostering and ensuring appropriate prioritisation is given to customers with which we can build a mutually profitable relationship by working alongside and highlighting to Project Managers and Directors 

  • Assisting the project management team building relationships with current customer base, and servicing customers to an expectation standard. 

Admin related to role: 

  • Estimator creates project handover document and presents to project team once a project is secured 

  • Ensure compliance with financial control processes e.g. correct tender authorisation must be secured before progressing negotiations. 

  • Through contact with customer, determine project programme and likely commencement dates. 

  • Represent the Company through attendance of site and pre-contract meetings with project teams and/or Directors 

About the Candidate 

  • Estimating and/or Sales experience required 

  • Glass, Aluminium or Facades contracting experience required 

  • Customer and competitor knowledge desirable  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and approachable nature 

  • Ability to tailor how they converse with people depending on role and stature  

  • Commercial acumen 

  • Ability to interpret technical and architectural drawings to ensure accurate pricing 

  •  Logical thinking and structured approach to working
