The Role
As a subject matter expert, you’ll take responsibility for assessing operability and maintenance of electrical utilities at HPC. You’ll ensure technical electrical standards are met through monitoring legislative compliance and safety rules across the HPC project.
Specifically, you’ll be accountable for the following:

Liaising with the engineering teams to develop and agree technical standards for electrical utilities

Reviewing technical designs and procedures to ensure electrical utilities meet the required standards and regulations

Monitoring adherence to site- specific electrical standards

Conducting site surveillance on electrical installations under construction

Assessing operational feedback to determine lessons learnt for HPC
The Skills
To be successful in the role, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Hinkley Point Preapproval
-
IPaf and Pasma would be useful although not essential
Degree in a relevant electrical engineering subject or equivalent experience -
ECS Gold Card

Knowledge & experience of HV and LV electrical systems design, installation, testing and maintenance

Knowledge & experience of HV and LV electrical systems switching, isolation and control including electrical operation safety rules

Knowledge of appropriate Regulations and Codes of Practice (Electricity at Work Regs, BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations and associated COP, National Grid Code, Electricity Connection Standards of Performance)

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including HASAWA, CDM
