My Client a leading electrical company specialising in the design and installation of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and data systems for the retail, leisure, and commercial sectors across the UK.
Due to our growing reputation for delivering high-quality projects, we are embarking on a sustained period of growth and are seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our existing design team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering and problem-solving and excited about the opportunity to work in a dynamic role that offers a blend of office-based design work and on-site experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data systems, and other electrical services, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Produce fully coordinated designs from feasibility and concept stages through to construction, ensuring all deliverables meet project timelines and specifications.
- Use AutoCAD 2D, Revit 3D (preferred, but not essential), and electrical design software (e.g., Amtech or Dialux) for modelling and analysis.
- Maintain and develop company design standards, reviewing and approving design documents, calculations, and specifications prepared by the Directors and projects team.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing updates, resolving issues, and maintaining excellent professional relationships.
- Work closely with the operations and projects teams and other departments to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Contribute to business development by driving innovation and participating in the identification of new opportunities.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles and processes, particularly in building services.
- HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools such as Amtech and Dialux.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with well-developed presentation skills.
- A meticulous approach, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment and to be prepared to assist in other areas of the business when required.
