CAD/Revit Designer (Construction)

Our client is a market leading interior contractor and are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic designer to join their team.  

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce material lists and order ancillary materials for specific jobs within agreed timescales.
  • Create CAD/REVIT/3D plans and details for all construction projects.
  • Develop CAD/REVIT/3D plans for estimating and client presentations.
  • Maintain a CAD/REVIT/3D library.
  • Ensure CAD/REVIT/3D revisions are up to date and issued to all relevant parties.
  • Modify and update CAD/REVIT/3D drawings as required.
  • Liaise with the construction site manager and client project manager to establish the scope of works.
  • Problem-solve any unforeseen issues with the design.
  • Advise the project team of any restricted build issues identified from CAD/REVIT/3D drawing production and project variations.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys.
  • Adhere to policy and procedures in line with site-specific RAMS.
  • Comply at all times with Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Update skills and knowledge as required by the company to effectively carry out the role.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Competent IT skills in AutoCAD, REVIT, 3D modeling, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of plan drawing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be proactive.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety legislation.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Self-driven.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Flexibility to travel to various locations in the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Practical application of skills.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Valid UK Clean Driving Licence (desirable).
  • GCSE in Maths and English.
  • Engineering background (desirable).
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card may be required for site visits—training can be provided.
