A Regional Main Contractor requires a Buyer with experience with main contracting procurement. Experience with electrical would be beneficial.

About the role:

• Responsible for day-to-day procurement of material and sub-contractors
• Someone with the ability to create a buying system/process that works efficiently
• Working in a busy office environment supporting projects ranging from £500k-£2M
• Negotiate fees and prices with suppliers to get the best value for the company
• Align supplier agreements alongside companies’ business performance and cost objective
• Monitor the status of orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that arise.
• Issue purchase orders for electrical materials, equipment, and services, ensuring accuracy in specifications and quantities

About the Candidate:

• Experienced Buyer from a main contracting background 
• Someone who has the ability to create procurement processes and procedures
• Work Autonomously and as part of a team to ensure you deliver the best result against cost objectives
• Someone who is innovative and can think outside the box
• Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills
• Experience with material and subcontractor procurement
• Experience purchasing in a construction environment
• Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure delivery against objectives
