Position: BIM Lead

A leading specialist contractor is seeking an experienced BIM Lead to drive digital transformation across multiple envelope design and construction projects. This is a pivotal role offering autonomy, team leadership, and the opportunity to shape and implement company-wide BIM strategy, processes, and standards in line with ISO 19650 certification goals.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

• Leading BIM execution across roofing, cladding, and façade design projects

• Developing and implementing company-wide BIM standards, templates, and workflows

• Supporting ISO 19650 certification through consistent documentation (EIRs, BEPs, TIDPs, etc.)

• Managing clash detection and coordination processes

• Providing BIM-related training and mentoring to internal teams

• Representing BIM capabilities in client and project meetings

• Collaborating across departments to improve digital efficiency

• Managing both internal and third-party BIM/CAD teams

• Overseeing model production, auditing, and troubleshooting

Requirements

• HNC or equivalent in a design-related discipline

• Proven experience as a BIM Lead or BIM Manager in construction or building envelopes

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and CDE platforms (e.g., Aconex, Viewpoint, Asite)

• Understanding of ISO 19650 and digital construction protocols

• Skilled communicator with strong technical documentation ability

• Experience managing BIM workflows on major façade or roofing packages

Preferred Sector Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly advantageous:

• Flat Roofing (Single Ply, Hot Melt, Felt, Cold Applied)

• Hard Metal Cladding (Copper, Zinc, Lead)

• Traditional Slate & Tile Systems

• Aluminium Standing Seam & Composite Panels

• Rainscreen, Twin Skin, HPL, Fibre Cement Cladding
